"If you own a building in Baltimore County that contains six dwelling units or fewer that you intend to rent, including Section 8 and BRHP-assisted properties, each rental unit must be registered or approved for exemption by Baltimore County before tenants move in. "
In Step 2 of the registration process, it is required that the property owner have the dwelling inspected by a Maryland State Licensed Home Inspector. The signed inspection form is to be submitted to the Baltimore County Government, Department of Permits, Approvals, and Inspections, along with a Carbon Monoxide Alarm Verification form. If the house was built prior to 1978, a Lead Inspection Certificate is also required. For more information, visit the Baltimore County Government website here
